Moleskin

After compromising on many a cheap sketchbook over the years I recently read about an artist that swears by the Moleskin.

So I bought one and wish I'd done so years ago. It's great. Nice weight in each page and the texture of the paper is great. It really holds the graphite and helps build up the darks.

Broke it in with this two hour sketch today.

Ganga's Offering - Pt8

Tonight the candles were lit and so I was able to concentrate on the darks and lights with a proper light reference. Think the picture makes more sense now.
